The tarot card Temperance is number XIV of the Fool's Journey through the major arcana cards. The Temperance card is one of balance, health and harmony, like the calm of a hurricane’s eye. This finding of equilibrium rejects life’s binaries and extremes while encouraging patience. Connected with the zodiac sign of Sagittarius, Temperance invites one to experience the health, vitality and renewal of vigor that comes from living in balanced flow. 

The card depicts an angel balanced between one foot on the rocks and one in the water, representing one’s connection to this earth and connection with spirit. The angel is shown holding two vases pouring water between the two containers, symbolic of finding balance in the flow and alchemy of life.
